2027 RRCQ Championship Show Judge

Dawn Redman
Shelridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks (Australia)

Dawn’s lifelong devotion to the Rhodesian Ridgeback began in 1967 with a young bitch named Toffee, whose loyalty and presence sparked a passion that would shape the decades to come. After immigrating to Australia, Dawn together with her mother Sylvia Corker established Shelridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks – a small, principled kennel known for producing sound, moderate, and true to type Ridgebacks.

Across five decades, Shelridge dogs have earned championship titles, specialty wins, group awards, and international recognition, including exported RR who excelled in the show ring, obedience, and tracking. Dawn’s breeding philosophy centres on thoughtful custodianship, recognising quality in other lines, and preserving the Ridgeback’s functional heritage.

Alongside her Ridgebacks, Dawn has also been actively involved in Salukis, Newfoundlands, and Skye Terriers, achieving success across multiple breeds. Her experience includes Best in Specialty Show and Grand Champion Salukis & Newfoundlands, plus multi champion Skye Terriers, reflecting her deep understanding of structure, movement, and breed purpose across diverse groups.

Dawn is a licensed ANKC Hound and Non Sporting Group judge. She has officiated at multiple Rhodesian Ridgeback specialty shows throughout Australia and has judged the breed internationally, including appointments in New Zealand, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Her judging career reflects both her expertise and the respect she has earned within the global Ridgeback community.

Grateful for the collaboration of fellow breeders and the dedication of owners worldwide, Dawn continues to guide Shelridge with integrity, experience, and a profound love for the breed.
